Spend the Day in Clay County
We invite you to make a day trip to Clay County, or maybe a weekend. You’ll find plenty to do.
A Unique Town. . .
We’ve all been to Nashville, Chattanooga and Knoxville, right? For some of us, things are a little too fast-paced there. Those wonderful Tennessee towns have a lot to offer, but when was the last time you spent any quality time in a unique little town?
In Clay County, Mom & Pop still rules in business, where home cooking is a way of life. We invite you to come to our town, where the living is slow and easy. . .
DALE HOLLOW LAKE – If you like the Great Outdoors (water in particular), there’s no better place to float your boat, or to simply admire the scenery. Clay County boasts six marinas on the lake, and all of them are just a bit different. You’ll have no problem finding one that can help you with your outdoors needs. There are multiple places to launch your own boat. (Did we mention DHL is the smallmouth bass capital of the world?)
If you love the water, we also have the Cumberland and Obey Rivers, where canoeing and kayaking are becoming more and more popular.
Dining and shopping
GREAT LOCAL EATS – A lot of places want to brag about how many chain restaurants they have, but we like to brag about our great local eateries. We have meat and three, all-you-can-eat catfish to giant burgers and a unique brand of barbecue found only in these parts. There’s no reason to leave Clay County hungry.
SHOPPING – Celina has become something of a “boutique and antique” town. If you like looking for old collectibles, primitives and other unique items, we’ve got it. Ladies, we’ve also got several boutiques that folks are driving from far and near to visit. The best thing? You can park in one spot and see all of it on foot.
HOSPITALITY – We guarantee you’ll be treated with a big dose of Southern and Appalachian American hospitality.
Why wait? Come up for a day, weekend, or vacation. You might like it so well you decide to stay with us.
