Farmers market scheduled June 2 at courthouse square
CELINA – A farmers market will kick off at the courthouse square here on Saturday, June 2, beginning at 8 a.m.
“After many months of discussion, we’re really excited about getting the farmers market underway,” said Jason Shultz, county agent for the University of Tennessee Ag Extension Service.
“Last year, we had difficulty finding vendors, but we think we’ve turned the corner on having people to sell their goods,” Shultz said. “We’ve seen for some time the public was interested from a buyer’s standpoint. We can always accommodate more vendors, too.”
The plan now is to have the farmers market each Saturday on the square, beginning with the June 2 date.
“After hearing how much people want to buy produce and other goods at a farmers market, we need everyone to come out and support the effort,” Shultz said. “Please mark your calendar for Saturday, June 2, from 8 a.m. til noon. We need you to be there.”
