COOKEVILLE- Tennessee Tourism Commissioner Kevin Triplett recently spoke to tourism representatives across the Upper Cumberland here about the state’s soon-to-be-unveiled Music Pathway.

Triplett said the Department of Tourism has already identified a list of iconic music locations in all 95 Tennessee counties, and may already have as many as 600 possible locations for markers on the pathway that will stretch from one end of the state to the other.

The Music Pathway will join 16 other “trails,” including the Ring of Fire, Sunny Side, Rocky Top and Top Secret road trails in Tennessee.

Triplett spoke about the rich music history in the state during his presentation, saying “nobody has the volume of music history that we have in Tennessee.”

The state is home to several different genres of music, many of them originating in the state.  During his presentation here, Triplett mentioned Clay County singer/songwriter Lola Jean Dillon, who has written songs for many music greats, including Loretta Lynn.
